Ujjain : The official website of the Simhastha fair is lacking the vital information pieces and it seems the officials have tried their best on purpose to hide these important titbits of the arrangements to avoid trouble. The Simhastha Fair Authority (SFA) is avoiding uploading all those pieces of information which have been trouble maker for them. Senior SFA officials, who have been claiming about transparency in every affair related to Simhastha mela, are trying their best to hide the key pieces of information from public domain. At the end, not only the masses will be at receiving end of whom hard earned money is being spent in mercy less manner, but the visitors will also be not be able to get the required information.
The website info is uploaded by an IT team, who work from the mela office, but the team is only being given information related to a tourist. The web domain is being developed with mirage contents. The official had claimed that the website will be one spot location where single info be it bills, approvals, money spent, land pieces, allotments and demarcation will be uploaded, but now claims have fallen flat. The SFA had decided that the land pieces will be given on basis of land allotments in Simhastha fair of 2004.
The extent of services and land provided to institute, association or saint should have been displayed in the website, but was not. Also the website lacks any information regarding the number of institutes or seers contacting them for land and how much land is being given. According to sources, all such information is not being uploaded on to the website on purpose, as persons making a cut from the institutes, seeking land and other services will go empty handed.
Land demarcation remains questionable
Demarcation of land pieces has always remained questionable for the authority working, as almost every seer has been complaining about the land measure cut from their plot. Recent example is Saint Vishvatmanand of Maha Nirvani Akhada, who decided to physically inspect the marking of his allotted plot and got hundreds of square feet less land in reality check. According to sources, the SFA is avoiding to upload the information, to avoid clash from various sects and saints. Further thousands of individual seers and agencies seek land in the Simhastha fair area, and every one does not get what they want, so the officers in department get upper hand and decide as per wish. Further, local seers, dignitaries and scholars are displeased over the closed chamber working of the authorities. They said the transparency of the administration has reached a new low this Simhastha fair. They also said the local advisory committees for the Simhastha fair have not yet formed. They said the officials have developed tendency to work in close rooms and release the information as per discretion.
