Ujjain : The first Sunday of Shravan month brought chaos to the Mahakaleshwar temple, where disorder prevailed at every moment and nook of the temple. The sanctity of the temple was destroyed and footwear were scattered inside the Nandi Hall. The team of 8 administrative officials to overlook the Kavadiya arrangements failed to act and it was a seen of utter chaos inside the temple.
The temple management somehow averted a stampede like situation and as rules inside the temple were shattered and 100 Kavadiyas were seen entering the Garbh-Griha of the temple, without the permission and ban of the Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee (SMTMC). The Kavadiyas of the Samarpan Kavad Yatra used almost every entry inside the temple to reach the Garbh Griha. Sanctity of the temple was broke as no one dared to stop the Kavadiyas who were entering the temple with shoes and chappals on. According to the information the organisers of the Samarpan Kavad Yatra are in good terms with the ruling party and the officials were helpless on the behavior of the Kavadiyas.
The chaotic environment inside the Garbha-Griha could have led to tragedy as hundreds of Kavdiyas rushed inside the Garbha-Griha for offering water to the deity. Even the Panda Pujaris were seen helpless and awestruck. The temple administrator RP Tiwari who was seen helpless said we are trying to control the pilgrims and arrangements will be made more stiff so that such things do not repeat. Also the security guards at the entry gates will be pulled for an answer, he added.
Kavadiyas bring garbage to city
The Kavadiyas who brought to the city their obeisance also brought the city garbage and clutter. The residents and many groups at various places in the city welcomed the Kavadiyas of Samarpan Kavad Yatra. One such place was Tower Chowk, which after the welcome ceremony became the witness of pollution created by the Kavdiyas, who were only cared about themselves. Hundreds of empty pouches of packaged drinking water dotted the most prominent city square and left it as piece of shame for the organisers of the welcome function. The organisers who distributed the packets could have arranged for volunteers, who could have picked up the empty pouches and dispose them properly.
