Ujjain : A grand Kalash Yatra was taken out to mark the beginning of Shivshakti Mahayagya and Shrimad Bhagwat Katha on Saturday. Fire was set at the Shivshakti Mahayagya by taking sacred water from Koti Tirtha and the Akhand Jyot from Mahakaleshwar Temple and Harsiddhi temple.
The grand procession began as the Batukas unfurled the religious flags of Mahayagya escorting it. Yagyacharya, Bhagwatacharya and saints, seers accompanied the procession in the chariots. Women carried the urns on their heads in the procession. Devotees accompanied with dancing and swinging. Rajkamal Band, Indore dissolved the devotional tunes in the ambience. Procession passed through Gudri, Gopal Mandir, Kanthal, Nikas, Ankpat and concluded at Awantika Mahakal Mandapam near Gumandev Hanuman temple. Yagya and Bhagwat Katha will be continued till February 20.
