Addressing a press conference at the Press Club, Sant Eklavya Maharaj, who had been active for cow protection for last 40 years here, said that the party system practiced in Indian democracy has created a wide spread pessimism among the countrymen.

“ It is a mockery of our system that the representatives whom the people elect through ballots for Lok Sabha, state assemblies, urban and rural bodies get the orders from their political masters,” he elaborated. 80- year- old Sant Eklavya Maharaj, who hails from Godda of Jharkhand, is a post- graduate in sociology.

According to him, the peoples’ representatives these days become slaves of political parties after winning elections, but he would become a slave of the people if he wins. He alleged that none of the political parties believe in Gandhism.

“ Gandhism is the sole tool to win over the problems as it believes in decentralisation of works and making people happy,” he added.
