Administration seeks seven days time but fails to give written assurance
Ujjain : Agitating saint of Nimohi Ani Akhada Ganeshdas, who was on hunger strike from last two days, suspended the strike on Friday after Shri Mahant of the Akhada Saint Rajendradas reaching at Narsing Ghat with administrative officials and sought seven days time for commencing purification work in River Kshipra.
Top saint of the Akhada and SDM Kshitij Sharma took more than an hour to convince the adamant saint to end the hunger strike. Ganeshdas wanted to take in writing from the administrative officials that work will be commenced within seven days but officials did not give in writing and promised to begin digging wells in the river within stipulated time. After intervention of saint Rajendradas, Ganeshdas relented and broke his hunger strike by drinking fruit juice.
However, convener of Malav Raksha Anushthan, Satyanarain Purohit announced in front of all the present saints to do a daylong hunger strike in front of Rajbhawan, Bhopal on 2 March and will commence indefinite hunger strike from 4 March at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi for purification of Kshipra and for conservation of Gau Shalas of the city.
