Admn pays no attention on security of centre

Ujjain: Three rare species snakes including a bicephaly were stolen away from the Reptile Conservation Centre couple of days back.Some miscreants stole away three snakes of rare species from the centre as there were not enough security arrangements.City has a Reptile Conservation Centre at Basant Vihar area. The centre is being targeted by certain miscreants these days.

The unidentified miscreants are often seen around the centre drinking alcohol.They stole away a bicephalous snake, a red snake and a cobra after breaking a serpentarium. Police was informed about the incident.Police during investigation found some broken pieces of wine bottles at the premises. Police suspected drunkards who could have stolen the snakes.

Centre Director Mukesh Hingle informed that miscreants had stolen away the snakes, which are said to be rare and they can get huge some of amount by selling them in market. This is the first time that snakes had been stolen from the centre.

A tortoise went stolen from the centre a year back. No clue was found about the stolen tortoise yet. Administration does not provide any type of assistance and support to the centre. He had written many times to administration for seeking security and financial help. Centre has only two snakes left at present.
