Ujjain : Pulse Polio Campaign is going to be launched in the district from January 17. 2, 75, 879 kids aged between 0-5 years would be administered the Pulse Polio drops. 2163 booths will be constituted to administer the vaccine. Administration has decided to make extensive publicity of the campaign to root out the danger.

The government has decided to launch the first phase of Pulse Polio Campaign on January 17, 18 and 19 across the nation considering the cases of polio in the neighbouring countries like Pakistan and Afghanistan. Around 2, 75, 879 children would be administered the polio vaccine in the first phase. A meeting of district task force to discuss over the detailed planning of the campaign was held at Brahaspathi Bhavan on Thursday. Vaccine would be administered at 2163 booths across the district. District Task Force has planned to visit around 3, 30, 425 houses. 99 mobile teams would be put in force to avail the vaccine to the children. 4825 vaccination workers and supervisors would be deployed for this work.

CMHO Dr NK Trivedi, Civil Surgeon DPS Gaharwar, DMCHO Dr KC Parmar, UNO Pulse Polio in-charge Dr Sunita Parmar, city qazi Khalikurrehman and officials from Education department, WCD, Panchayat & Rural Development were present.
