Prohibitory orders in city
BHOPAL : Collector and district magistrate under section 144 of Indian Penal Code has issued prohibitory orders with immediate effect banning rallies, public meetings, processions and sit- ins for two months in the various spots of the city.
The areas where section 144 will be effective include Tin Shed, New Market, Road from Roshanpura to Rajbhawan, Road from Roshanpura to Polytechnic Square, Road from Polytechnic Square to CM House, Polytechnic Building to K N Pradhan Trisection, Road from Polytechnic Square to Retghat. During the said period, no person will be allowed to hold effigy burning, sit- ins, public meetings, rallies or agitations, failing which action under section 188 of IPC will be taken by the station incharge/ executive magistrate of the said area.
Prez decorates five state police officials
On the occasion of Republic Day, President Pratibha Devi Patil decorated four assistant sub- inspectors and one Subedar of Madhya Pradesh Home Guards with medals.
According to Divisional Commandant Home Guards Bhopal, the President bestowed Vishisht Sewa Medal on Purushottam Das Shukla, ASI Shahdol and Anita Singh Chauhan, ASI ( M), Bhopal. Sarahniya Sewa Medals were given to Deviprasad Tiwari, Subedar ( M), Datia, Lakhan Lal Chhaikar ASI, Headquarters and Balmukund Tiwari ASI, Indore.
Now, CM to hold a panchayat of journos
Journalistsalt39 panchayat will be organised at chief ministers house soon for the solution of problems of scribes in the state. This was announced by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan in a convention of journalists held here on Thursday. Chauhan said declaration of Journalist Panchayat was made in the past too but it was postponed on the advice of officials. He said appropriate amendment in the aid policy of department of public relations for journalists will be made, so that adequate arrangement for the treatment of journalists and their kin could be made. He said help from chief minister discretionary fund will also be given.
