Ujjain : Angry family members of a pregnant woman who died hours after admitting her to Civil Hospital accused the doctors of negligence and protested the incident by keeping the deceased’s body on a footpath for an hour at the hospital here on Tuesday.

According to information, pregnant Ramkanya (20), wife of Gopal, a resident of Agar was admitted to Civil Hospital during wee hours with complaint of severe vomiting. At 9 am on Tuesday, she was declared dead by the doctors. Family members of the deceased said the woman had no complication and was not in a serious condition. She was admitted for severe vomiting, they added. Utter carelessness and negligence of doctors and staff claimed her life, accused kin of the woman.

Protesting the negligence of hospital staff and doctors, the family members kept the body on a passage at the hospital. Hearing their screaming, several passers-by gathered at the scene and the atmosphere turned tense.

Soon police reached at the spot and told her family to handover the body for post-mortem. However, the doctors refused to do autopsy saying it was a natural death.

Meanwhile, sources claimed that she was suffering from swine flu and she was suffering from fever since few days and was vomiting. Later, police handed over the body without performing autopsy to the family members.
