Ujjain : Government Railway Police (GRP) claimed to have solved loot case of Rs 19 lakh and informed that plaintiff himself have committed the crime along with his friend and have registered the complaint to misguide the police, here in a press conference on Wednesday. Ujjain GRP has arrested Sandeep Chawda and his accomplice Rakesh in the case and also confiscated the amount.
Accused Sandeep Chawada resident of Mehsana, Gujarat had registered the complaint of loot of Rs 10 lakh from Akodia station at the GRP station of Maksi on October 12. Sandeep claimed that three unknown masked robbers have looted the said amount after taking me into bushes near the Akodia station when he debarked from Jabalpur Somnath Express to fill his water bottle while going to Ahmedabad. During investigation, point of suspicion turned towards plaintiff when he easily showed the spot of crime to policemen but claimed to have not seen the faces of robbers due to darkness. When police strictly interrogated Sandeep, he revealed the entire story and said that he got an idea from Jabalpur loot case in which employee of a Hawala Company was looted in the similar manner.
When he came to know that he has to take Rs 19 lakh of Hawala from Bhopal to Ahmedabad he contacted his friend Rakesh resident of his own village and concocted the entire story of loot. Both met in Bhopal and took Somnath Express for going to Ahmedabad, after reaching Akodia both debarked from the train where Rakesh created marks of injury on the chest of Sandeep. Then Rakesh went back to his home with the amount and Sandeep reached at GRP station to register the complaint. On the direction of the owner of Hawala Company Rajesh Kumar, Sandeep only complained about the loot of Rs 10 Lakh at the place of actual amount of Rs 19 lakh as he was carrying illegal amount. Ujjain GRP has also informed to Income Tax Department as confiscated amount is of Hawala transaction.
