A petition filed by Praful Yajurvedi for cancelling election of Congress MP Meenakshi Natrajan from Mandsaur has been dismissed by Indore Bench of MPHCs Justice I S Shrivastava.

Praful had filed a p

etition on the basis of Natrajan availing allowance, vehicle, staff and other facilities in the capacity as Nehru Yuva Kendra vice- president at the time of filing her nomination. In his plea, he alleged that she was ineligible to contest the elections under the relevant Act as she was holding a post of profit.

Representing Natrajan, advocate VK Jain said that during the time of election, she was not holding any post of profit.

Besides this, Natrajan had also clarified that she was not holding any post of profit as the payment made to her was mere compensation.

The court on the basis of hearing conducted in this matter agreed with the argument made by her advocate that she was not holding any post of profit and dismissed the petition.
