Last word World Prohibition Day observed

World Prohibition Day was observed here on Sunday at Tower Chowk square under the joint aegis of Ujjain police, City Security Committee, Social organizations, NCC cadets and Government Girls College. Students, officials and citizens holding banners, p&hlet, posters and placards in their hands made people aware of ill effects of alcohol. According to SP Rakesh Gupta, the day was celebrated with an objective of making common people aware about ill effects of intoxication.
A human chain was formed by people under the aegis of Jagrati Nashamukti Kendra to convey a message of prevention from intoxication and its ill effects on public in- general. Addressing on this occasion City Congress Committee president Batukshankar Joshi said that criminal activities are increasing day by day in the city as adolescents start taking alcohol causing problem for family members.
Parents should make their children aware about its ill effects. Leader of opposition Ravi Rai, Maya Trivedi, Rajesh Trivedi, Jitendra Tilkar, Sanjay Thakur and others were present on this occasion.
Likewise, a public awareness rally was taken out by NCC cadets of 10 MP Battalion under the leadership of Colonel Anup Agraval which passed through Madhav College, Railway Station and ended at Tower Chowk where an exhibition was held. Cadets were informed about ill effects of intoxication and an oath was administered them as well.
Likewise, resolution letters were filled by common people on the request of NSS unit of Government Girls PG College, Dussehra Maidan.
They also took resolution of not having alcohol and other intoxications and not selling them as well. NSS officer Dr Anshu Bhardwaj and Priyanka Verma were present on this occasion.
