Ujjain: Divisional Commissioner ( DC) AK Pandey assumed the office of Ujjain Development Authority ( UDA) chairman on Tuesday following the orders by MP Housing and Environment Department, Bhopal on January 6. MP Housing and Environment Department issued orders ( F- 11- 29/ 2013/ 1/ 9) on December 23 cancelling the appointment of chairman, vice- chairman, director and members of corporations, authorities, committees and councils with immediate effect.
UDA Superintending Engineer VK Tiwari and account officer DK Neema conducted the proceedings of appointment of Pandey. Soon after assuming the office, Pandey directed officials that he would make inspection of all progressive construction works under UDA on January 11. Pandey also directed the officials to handover the houses to beneficiaries without any delay. Land should be acquired for extension of four- lanes and ring- roads according to the projects ahead of Simhastha Fair, he instructed.
Pandey also asked the officials concerned to prepare a list of vacant posts in the UDA. Recruitments will be done on the vacant posts soon. Besides, a plan will be prepared to generate income, he said. Pandey will convene a meeting of officials after the inspection. The new chairman also directed the officials to organize a meeting of UDA Board of Directors on January 20. JK Jain, executive engineer Ranjag Garg, legal officer Maneesh Joshi, PK Joshi, Narayan adav and others welcomed Pandey. UDA Chief Executive Officer Shivendra Singh was in Bhopal due to some engagement with the Lok Ayukta.
