OUR STAFF REPORTER BHOPAL The appointment of IAS officer Gyaneshwar Patil as collector of Sheopur is witnessing strong opposition by Panchayat secretaries.

Patil was accused in a case of sexual exploitation of a Panchayat secretary.

Panchayat Secretary Association is going to show black flags to Patil in Sheopur.

Patils case is subjudice and that is why, his posting is attracting severe protest.

According to Panchayat Secretary Association president Dinesh Sharma, a memorandum, demanding removal of Patil from the post of collector, will be given to Chief Minister and panchayat minister on June 28. Sharma threatened of launching a state wide agitation, if no action is taken against him. How can government appoint a person who is not cleared of sexual exploitation charges in such an important post,Sharma asked. Satish Chaukse, a panchayat secretary, alleged Patil of sexual exploitation when the latter was chief executive officer, district panchayat, Bhopal.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan had suspended Patil in connection with the matter but he was reinstated without any thorough probe.
