Ujjain : Members of Zila Panchayat (ZP), on Monday submitted a memorandum to the collector demanding the suspension of District Education Officer (DEO) Sanjay Goyal, over his alleged misdemeanor.

A delegation of Panchyat members led by their president Mahesh Parmar, handed over a memorandum to Additional Collector Narendra Suryawanshi, although the memorandum was named to Collector. They informed that the DEO Goyal had openly disrespected the meeting and had charged false accusations of corruption and abuse against ZP vice-president Bharat Porwal. During a recent review meeting of the Education Department, on a questionnaire, DEO Goyal had lost his cool over delay of a file, relating to termination of deputation of one Sapna Mehta.

According to the complainants, Goyal alleged that Porwal had been repeatedly tormenting him mentally over the case and not supplying enough money. They said Goyal defamed the Panchayat house by doing so and it is a breach of Civil Services Code. They also cited certain Sections of Panchayat Act which Goyal had breached by putting personal allegations and speaking without permission of ZP president.
