Ujjain : An anthology titled ‘Second Innings’ created by a school teacher, Monica Panchal, who had been battling for life after meeting with an accident, was released during a programme recently. Monica met with an accident on December 22, 2013 when a blind truck hit her while she was one her scooty to school on Agar Road. She sustained injuries in her right hand which almost got fractured.

The unbearable pain trauma, depression and gloom which surrounded her were infinite. Monica, a dynamic teacher from St Paul Convent School said she felt like a useless vegetables and dependent parasite, but wading courageously through the storm, she recomposed her shattered hopes and rekindled the potential of poetry writing. Typing with her left hand in her mobile phone created a beautiful anthology of poems that seep deeply through the heart. Second Innings as the name suggests is grabbing the life from the clutches of death and playing the best part in the coming over’s. Each poem stirs the soul and inspires the heart as she says, ‘let’s erase the darkness with the sun and brighten each page till evening comes’.
