Ujjain: A youth named Jitendra adav of Bahadurganj locality went on Char Dham atra along with his three friends on May 26. After his father left for Haridwar in search of him, the administration added his name in the list of missing pilgrims.
According to sources, Jitendra was son of senior labour leader Mahendra Singh adav. He used to run a betel shop at a city square. He went to visit Kedarnath shrine along with his three friends from Indore. Kin of Jitendra had contact with him last time on June 16 when he told them that he had visited Kedarnath shrine and was about to return on the way to Gourikund. After he did not return home, his father went to Haridwar in search of him and found no information about his whereabouts. Jitendra was the only son in the family as his elder brother died of cardiac arrest a few months back.
BJP Kisan Morcha handed over relief fund worth Rs 25, 505 to BJP city president Iqbal Singh Gandhi for extending help to victims of Uttarakhand disaster, here on Tuesday. Divisional organising secretary Rakesh Dagor was present on this occasion. Likewise, employees of Ujjain Municipal Corporation ( UMC) also donated their one day’s salary for helping the victims of the calamity. According to president of employees’ union Ramesh Raghuwanshi, employees of different departments of UMC were consulted to donate their salary. Permanent employees of UMC agreed for the social cause.
Asha Medhekar of Veteran Women Organization collected money for relief funds from citizens and presented a cheque worth Rs 5, 600 to Divisional Commissioner AK Pandey here on Tuesday. Pandey made an appeal to officials and employees of different government departments for donating their one day’s salary for victims of the Uttarakhand disaster. BJP Maharajwada Block also conducted a campaign in the block to collect fund for victims.
