Ujjain : City academic organizations organised various programmes to mark the foundation day of National Service Scheme (NSS) here on Wednesday.

NSS unit of Government Madhav College celebrated the occasion by holding an orientation programme on Wednesday. Principal Dr LN Verma in his address to NSS volunteers said, ‘Nation’s future depends on youths. NSS gives a platform to youths to groom their inner strengths. Youths should prevent themselves from bad habits and should serve nation. Dr Zafar Mehmood, Dr Rafique Nagori and Dr Arun Verma motivated NSS volunteers. Dr Aruna Sethi conducted the programme while Prof Chintaman Suryawanshi proposed the vote of thanks.

NSS and Youth Red Cross Wing jointly hosted a lecture at Government Girls PG College on the occasion of NSS foundation day. Gynecologist Dr Jaya Mishra delivered a lecture on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Dr Mishra quenched the curiosities of girls. Principal Dr Mohammad Ishaque chaired the programme. NSS programme officer Priyanka Verma conducted the programme. Likewise, Government Madhav Science College also celebrated NSS foundation day in the presence of Additional Director of Higher Education Usha Shrivastava. Essay, debate and other competitions were organised on this occasion. Volunteers were given away B-certificate. Dr Shubhangi Vaidya conducted the programme while Dr Pradeep Lakhre proposed the vote of thanks.

Bharatiya College and School celebrated the NSS foundation day in the presence of college principal Rashmi Sharma and school principal Sunil Singh Senger. Students were administered an oath of keeping the environment clean. NSS units of Government School for Excellence Madhav Nagar hosted NSS foundation day on Wednesday. Speech, painting, singing and essay competitions are being organised to mark the occasion under the direction of principal Abhay Kumar Tomar.
