Kids relax! You will not have to face the ordeal of examinations till class eight

BHOPAL: Following implementation of Right to Education Act, now annual evaluations will be undertaken in place of exam for class one to 8 and students will be given grades on the basis of their marks. It may be mentioned that earlier exams were held and students were passed as per divisions. Rajya Shiksha Kendra has announced the schedule of evaluations from March 1 to 10, 2012.

All the primary and middle schools will undertake the annual evaluations only as per the schedule. According to it, subject- wise evaluations for class 1 to 5 will be made from March 1 to 7 and class 6 to 8 from March 1 to 10. Rajya Shiksha Kendra has sent the order and detailed time- table to the districts.

Disabled students will be provided additional time and writer during the verbal and written evaluations.

The evaluation of answersheets of class 1 to 4 and 6 to 7 will be made at the school level and that of class 5 and 8 at the designated centres.

Grade A will be given on the basis of 75 percent or more marks, Grade B on 60 to 75 percent marks, Grade C on 45 to 60 percent marks and Grade D will be given on the basis of 33 percent marks.

Evaluation results will announced by March 31. Students from class 1 to 8 will be given progress reports while students of class 8 will be provided completion certificate under Right to Education Act.
