Ujjain : The ensuing Simhastha Fair – 2016 would be commemorated as ‘ Amrit Mahotsava’. To give a shape in this direction to this international mega event, the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has convened a special meeting of the ‘ high power committee’, headed by the chief secretary, at Vallabh Bhavan, Bhopal at 9.30 am on Friday.
Earlier, this meeting was to be held at 4 pm on October 14, but was deferred at the last moment in wake of Chauhan’s engagements.
On Thursday, divisional commissioner Ravindra Pastor, collector Kavindra Kiyawat and municipal commissioner- cum- fair officer Avinash Lavania sat for many hours in the Simhastha Fair Office to finalise a detailed presentation.
Senior officials and district heads of about 24 department were present. This exercise continued till 11 pm.
If sources are to be believed, new proposals pertaining to the preparations worth about Rs 1200 crores were finalised at local level.
Though exact details of these proposals were not disclosed, it is learnt that certain permanent nature works were considered necessary for government’s approval.
