Ujjain : The city of Mahakal has sunken into the devotional ecstasy of Navratri festival. The nine-day festival of the prayer of Shakti (the power) is being celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm. A feast of Chhappan Bhog (56 recipes) was offered before the Goddess at city’s prime temples on Sunday.
Haribhakt Mandal organized Annakut programme at Chhatreshwari Chamunda Mata and Gajlakshmi Temple located at Nai Peth seeking blessings for the successful hosting of Simhastha Fair-2016. Hari Singh Yadav and Ajeet Manglam informed that both the temples were decked up with colourful flowers and balloons. Khir prasadi was distributed at Chamunda Mata temple while aarti was performed in the evening.
Goddess Nagarkot was also adorned with special ornamentation on the occasion of Navratri festival, on Sunday. The entire temple was shining with colourful lights and Chhappan Bhog was offered before the Goddess. Girls played Garba in front of the Goddesses.
