Water likely to reach Ahmedpur intake well

OUR STAFF REPORTER BHOPAL Narmada water is expected to touch Bhopal by Saturday morning. It is likely to reach Ahmedpur intake well by Saturday. Earlier, the water was expected to reach Ahm

edpur on June 1. But it did not happen as the project power transmission system developed a technical snag. It was repaired, but the pipeline sustained severe damage between Dohataghat and Khatpura the next day.

” Now it has been repaired and valves are ok,” claimed PHE officials, who are looking after Narmada water affair.

PHE principal Secretary Alok Srivastava said, ” Damaged air valves and pipelines have been repaired and water has been released from Khatpura for Ahmedpur. It will take almost ten hours to reach Ahmedpur intake well.” PHE Executive Engineer MK Shrivastava, who looks after the Narmda Water project, said, ” Faults have been repaired and every thing is alright. The air valves, pipelines and power transmission have been checked and they are perfectly alright. And water has been released in evening from Khatpura and it will take eight to ten hours to reach intake well of Ahmedpur.”
