No one should be permitted to speak against Pakistan in programmes that are aired by private television channels, a National Assembly panel has recommended.

The National Assemblys Standing Committee on Information a

nd Broadcasting on Thursday made the recommendation and stated that words like ” Pakistan will break” must not go onair.

It added that using such language should be completely banned, reported the daily alt39 Dawnalt39 on Thursday.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan was present at the meeting.

Awan said that an effective monitoring method was there to watch over contents being aired by private television channels.

She said around 85 channels were operating in the country.
