Technical experts’ team discusses crowd management through mobile connectivity

Ujjain: A special meeting to discuss crowd management during Simhastha fair- 2016 was organised at police control room here on Thursday. A team of technical experts from premier institutions of the nation discussed over various aspects of crowd management through mobile connectivity during Simhastha- 2016.

SP Anurag informed that IG V Madhukumar and Divisional Commissioner AK Pandey were present during the meeting. Government of India sent a team of crowd management experts comprising Assistant professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore, Dr Ashish Verma, Dr Elena R Dugund from Nederland Science Center and University of Amsterdam and Prof Meghna Verma from Ramla Institute of Bangalore. The team discussed on the points managing huge mob during Simhastha Fair. Advance technology will be used to manage crowd.

Around 4- 5 crore pilgrims will visit the city of temples during Simhastha Fair- 2016. Special arrangements will have to be done to manage the giant crowd. Crowd management experts pondered over the problems confronted during handling of mob at such big event. Architect Shrikant Vaishampayan delivered a power point presentation displaying images of crowd during Simhastha- 2004. IG V Madhukumar and DC AK Pandey also expressed their views during the meeting. Municipal Commissioner Vivek Kshotriya, Collector BM Sharma, ASP Rajesh Vyas, ADM Avadhesh Sharma and Gopal Dad were present during the meeting.
