Angry consumers submit memo to collector

Ujjain: Once again city milk sellers have hiked the milk price by Rs 2 per litre. The unexpected hike in milk prices irked citizens very much as they handed over a memorandum to collector BM Sharma under the leadership of MP Rajiv Vikas Kendra president Mahendra Singh Kushwah, here on Tuesday.

Agitated citizens expressed their anger before administration and asked the collector to take action to control over soaring milk prices. Kushwah read the memorandum and said that a few milk sellers were exploiting citizens by hiking milk prices arbitrarily. Responsible persons have kept silence over the issue. Innocent people are being looted by increasing milk prices at their will. Milk prices touched the figure of Rs 40 per litre after the increase of Rs 2. Retail milk sellers are openly looting people by hiking prices of milk every month. Kushwah demanded the administration to call a meeting of District Price Control Committee.

City milk sellers often hike milk prices claiming that Sanchi Milk Federation had also increased the prices. Milk sold by Sanchi is pure and maintains a standard while the milk sold by retailers has lot of impurities, the consumers said.
