Ujjain: Representatives of religious organisations handed over a memorandum to IG V Madhukumar in protest of alleged brutal attack on the priest in Kaytha village on Thursday, here on Friday. They expressed anger over the gruesome act committed by villagers and demanded their arrest.
According to Mehant Avadheshdas, priest Mehant Pavandas who is a priest of Sri Bada Ram temple in village Kaytha of Tarana Tehsil was attacked by some villagers. His disciple Anup Singh was also stabbed by villagers. Both were admitted in Patidar Hospital where they are getting treatment. Irked over the brutal act of villagers, Swami Rangnathacharya, Swami Shantiswarupanand, Dr Akhileshdas, Madhav Prapannacharya, Shubhkaran Sharma, Prakash Chittora and others submitted a memorandum to IG V Madhukumar and demanded arrest of the accused villagers.
The priest was alleged by some villagers of not opening the temple in time and practicing irregularities.After some villagers made complaint before administration about this issue, TI Kaytha police station and Tehsildar D K Verma went to the temple to investigate the issue on Thursday.
