Ujjain : Local court sentenced life term imprisonment to six accused in a case of abduction, here on Friday. Court also imposed fine of Rs 1 lakh on five of six accused and Rs 50, 000 on one accused under Section 365, 368, 323 and 120 B of IPC.
According to SP Anurag Kumar, nine miscreants including a notorious criminal Bhagwan Choti were arrested in a case of abduction which took place on December 24, 2011. Complainant Dilip son of Devendra Kumar lodged a complaint of abduction of his brother Hasmukhlal at Mehidpur police station. Police filed an FIR against six accused on the complaint of Dilip Kumar under Section 365, 368, 323 and 120 B of IPC. Accused had demanded ransom of Rs 25 lakh from the kin of victim Hasmukhlal for releasing him.
The then police station in-charge Rakesh Mohan Shukla investigated the case thoroughly and arrested accused Bhagwan, 35, son of Prem Singh Choti , a resident of Tulaheda of Ghattia police station, Satyendra Singh alias Kaka, 33, resident of Niranjanpur, Manish, 24, son of Raju Bhati, resident of Bhagirathpura Indore, Yogesh, 25, son of Puralal Mahavar, resident of Binoba Nagar Indore, Sachin, 25, alias Khemraj son of Rajeev Yadav, resident of Scheme Number 114 Indore, Nasir, 50, son of Fatehkhan, resident of Mehidpur, Jitendra, Balu Singh and Pratap Singh. Police also got Hasmukhlal freed from the grip of accused.
Police filed charge-sheet against accused in the local court. Additional Government Pleader Rahul Sharma pleaded the case. Additional Sessions Judge Mehidpur, Subodh Kumar Jain sentenced five accused life term imprisonment and imposed fine of Rs 1 lakh under Section 364 A and 395 of IPC while accused Nasir was sentenced life imprisonment and fine of Rs 50, 000 under Section 364 A. Three accused Jitendra, Balu Singh and Pratap Singh were released by the court.
