Mehdele inspects dev works at Simhastha fair area & Panch Kroshi route

Ujjain : PHE, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Food Processing, Fishery and Cottage & Rural Industry, Minister Kusum Mehdele made inspection of departmental development works done at Simhastha Fair area and Panch Kroshi route, here on Sunday. She directed officials to finish the development works within the deadline.

Mehdele started her visit from Gaughat located water treatment plant where officials told her about the completion of work before the deadline. Testing work has been started. It was informed that water treatment plant for the treatment of 6 million gallon water was developed at Gaughat with the cost of Rs 5.65 crore. The plant will treat the water received from Narmada-Kshipra Link Project. 4 plants of such nature are in working state at present. These plants will treat 35 million liter water every day during Simhastha. Minister Mehdele also inspected the water supply management of PHE at Simhastha area.

Minister then visited Gambhir Intake well at Ambodia village. PHE Engineering-in-Chief GS Damor explained the technicalities of the intake well. She told that she would revisit the city in the month of January and will review all departmental works. PHE has developed an advanced intake well with the cost of Rs 4.36 crore at Ambodia. It is equipped with 6 pumps and it would work on intake well sinking well method which will lift water from 100 feet deep. Mehdele then moved to visit Panch Kroshi route and visited the temporary halting stations. PHE officials told that the department has developed 60 water tanks on the route for the supply of potable water. 50 tube wells will be dug.

Mehdele also observed the quality of the pipes being laid for water supply by PHE. Officials gave information about the quality and testing of the pipes. The pipes are of HDPE quality and they have been tested by central departmental agencies. The pipes are being joined by fusion technique. She also saw the technique in which two pipes are joined through HDP joint machine. Minister then reached to Sahibkhedi treatment plant. The whole project costed Rs 540.10 lakh and the plant can treat 1.75 MGD water. PHE also informed that 73.21 out of 162.45 MLD water will be required for Fair area on the day of royal bathe. Central Simhastha Fair Organising Committee Chairman Makhan Singh, SFA Chairman Diwakar Natu and Collector Kavindra Kiyawat were present.

Addressing a departmental review meeting, Minister Mehdele told that there would be sufficient supply of milk, fruits and vegetables during Simhastha-2016. All the work plans prepared for such arrangements should be forwarded to Bhopal. The meeting was held at Circuit House. Assistant director of Horticulture department Kanesh told that farmers are encouraged for crops which get ripened within 90 days in view of Simhastha. Minister also directed officials for practicing fair procedure of allotment of milk parlours.
