Ujjain : Elected representatives and Civic officials, Mayor, Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) commissioner, MLA including various officer of separate departments inspected Indore road interior four lane road and various civic related ongoing works in the immediate area on Wednesday.
The Mayor, Rameshwar Akhand along with MLA Mohan Yadav, UMC Commissioner Avinash Lavania and party Corporators visited the Indore road four lane areas of Nanakheda Bus Stand, Shanti Palace Hotel, Mahamrityunjai Dwar, Ujjain Engineering College, Shani Temple, Triveni Ghat and the road stretch of Nanakheda to Teen Batti Sqaure.
However the locals were disappointed over the behavior of elected representatives and authorities as not a single of them stepped a foot in many residential areas where locals were waiting for them roadsides, so as they can debrief their problems. Many of the colonies mainly from Nanakheda to Teenbatti Square have been partially shifted during the road widening and resident are facing many problems specially of drainage and health due to snail’s pace of work of the road construction.
At Mahamrityunjai Dwar, the Mayor pointed out that a rotary should be installed at the intersection, and requested the Commissioner to take up RCC Roads, patch works on both the sides immediately. The Chief Engineer has been directed to execute the works on priority basis. Local corporator Meena Jorwal also reached up to Mayor and described her pleas of sewage water spilling in residents homes as their houses have now been lowered from road surface after the road construction, mayor assured her of solving the problem soon.
The Mayor said that the road widening works affected people from Nanakheda to Teen Batti. The officers and contractors have been advised to pace up the works and complete it soon while on inspection at Nanakheda areas, the Commissioner pointed out the road works were not up to the expectations and needs improvement. The commissioner directed the Chief Engineer to personally monitor the execution of works with all the Executive Engineers without giving any scope for criticism.
MLA Mohan Yadav asked the officials to install center lighting up to Shani Temple, which are currently installed up to Engineering College area. As it is one of the most important temples on Indore side outskirts of the city.
The Commissioner at internal four lane to take up a special drive at the entire stretch where the road widening works which are taken up earlier to have a proper maintenance of the either sides of the road in a proper manner, correct the draining system and also to shift the electrical poles and the transformers from the widened portion to have a better look and also for the convenience of the general public.
Residents of Tripti Vihar and Deepti Vihar Colony got an assurance of rectification of their basic problems of drainage and supply of drinking water. Local corporator Ritubala Vyas demanded the construction of service road soon. MLA Mohan Yadav assured the residents of providing PHE pipelines to their colonies soon. Deputy-Commissioner UMC, SN Mishra, PWD SDO, Komal Bhutda, PHE Superintending Engineer VK Soni, Executive Engineer RK Shrivastava, Dr Vimal Garg, Dilip Bhargava and others officials were also present.
