Ujjain:Woman and Child Development ( WCD) Minister Maya Singh visited the Mahakal city here on Wednesday. Minister Singh chaired divisional meeting at Brahaspathi Bhavan and directed officials to root out the malnutrition and poor families should be provided benefits of welfare schemes of government.

Singh felicitated women and girls for their courageous work. Minister of WCD Maya Singh directed officials for cent percent registration of malnourished children at Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre.

Singh asked officials to execute departmental schemes in better way. Children should be provided quality food at Anganwadi centres in sound quantity. Health fairs should be organised at Sneha camps. No irregularities should be practiced in recruitment of Anganwadi workers and assistance. Anganwadi workers and assistants should play their roles skillfully. Anganwadi centres being operated in private buildings should be government buildings. Children affected with malnutrition should be given special care and efforts should be put to prevent them from the disease.

Principal Secretary of WCD Department Dr BR Naidu directed officials to ensure better implementation of schemes. District- wise comparative information of children weighing very low should be provided. Joint Director Dr Sandhya Vyas gave district wise information through a power point presentation.

There are 88 posts of anganbadi workers and 67 posts of assistants lying vacant in the division. Minister Singh felicitated women and girls for their daring tasks in different fields. Women and girls, who excelled academically, protested child marriage, imparted training for martial arts, judo and karate were felicitated.

Minister Maya Singh also visited Child Protection Home and Juveniles Home at Lalpur. She also paid obeisance before Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlingam, Harsiddhi and other temples. Divisional Commissioner AK Pandey was present during the meeting.
