Ujjain: Different programmes were organised on 112th birth anniversary of great Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan and students celebrated National Mathematics Day in schools here on Saturday.

‘ Mathematics helps us to think technically and give ways for sorting out daily life problems,’ Dr Rajiv Pandya said in a programme held at Shree Jaal Seva Niketan School. He continued that students must face the fear of mathematics so that they will be able to generate new ideas in their life. Principal Jyoti Chaubey chaired the programme.

Programme began with lamp ignition and garlanding on portrait of Ramanujan. On this occasion GP Kachaule, Bela Bartariya, Kalpana Bhataune and others were also present. Sanjay Jauhari conducted programme and Mrs Thakur proposed vote of thanks. Likewise, quiz and writing workshop on mathematics was organised at Government High School, Talod. According to convener Pravin Patel, interesting and knowledgeable questions were given to students. Prizes were given to winners. On this occasion, Meena Vyas told Ramanujan’s life to students.  Pravin Patel conducted the event and Manju Dehariya proposed the vote of thanks.
