Ujjain: Huge rush was seen in the market here on Tuesday on the occasion of Pushya Nakshatra. People thronged the markets to purchase jewelleries, utensils, electronics and other goods. A sound sale was recorded in Sarafa and utensil market on this day. City traders purchased bahi- khata ( trade stationery) to change their accounts and records.
Excitement was at its peak in the markets. Gold and silver coins, ornaments, electronic goods, garments and furniture were among favourites on this occasion. It is a belief that purchase should be of some kind of precious metals including gold, silver and others that bring prosperity in life. Affect of price hike was unseen in markets as people did not restrict themselves to shop in the markets. Markets remained opened till late night as people did shopping during shubh muhurt of Pushya Nakshatra.
Markets were decorated like a newly wed bride to lure people to light their pockets in shopping. Heavy rush was prevailed at jewellery shops at Sarafa Bazaar while utensil market was also flooded with customers. Automobile market was also crowded as people purchased their favourite four and two wheeler vehicles.
Patni Bazaar, Sarafa, Nai Sadak, Chhatri Chowk, Favvara Chowk, Freeganj were seemed overcrowded. Considering the heavy crowd, traffic police restricted four wheelers to enter into Satigate and Chhatri Chowk area.
