Local residents foiled a robbery attempt and nabbed the miscreants in Ayodhya Nagar locality under Piplani police station on Tuesday night.

The accused was beaten blue and black and handed them over

to police. He has sustained fracture in leg and has been admitted to JP hospital under police custody.

A case under section 393 of IPC has been registered.

According to report Munim Singh is an employee of a wine shop in Ayodhya Nagar.

On Tuesday night he was going home with Rs. 55 thousand in cash. As he moved out of the wine shop, Shyam Namdev on a motorbike allegedly threw chilli powder into their eyes and tried to take away the bag containing cash.

However Munim offered resistance and raised an alarm. Local shopkeepers and residents rushed for help.

Shyam fled but his motorbike slipped at some distance.

Public thrashed him and handed him over to police which reached there in meantime.

TI Nagendra Pateriya said that Shyam Namdev has a criminal record and has been charged with robbery, brawl etc in past. A case has been registered against him.
