MP wants building to be constructed in Simhastha area

Ujjain: Newly elected Member of Parliament (MP) Prof Chintamani Malviya took objection over construction of Simhastha Fair Authority building being constructed on the disputed land of Vikram Vatika. Malviya sent objection letters to Principal Secretary of Department of Housing and Environment to reconsider the order of diversion of the said land. Copies of objection letter were sent to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and district incharge Minister Kailash Vijayvergiya demanding to construct the building in Simhastha area.

Simhastha Fair Authority building is being built on the government land near Kothi Palace under Khasra survey number 131. The land is to be developed as park as per master plan Ujjain Development Scheme 2012 and is known as botanical garden of Vikram Vatika. A case of dispute over the possession of land between Vikram University and Ujjain Municipal Corporation is under hearing in the High Court. Principal Secretary of Department of Housing and Environment had ordered for diversion of the land.

MP Prof Malviya demanded for construction of the building at Simhastha area considering its utility for Simhastha works. The building should not be built on the disputed land. It is a mere wastage of government and public fund on the construction of building which is being raised on the land assigned for raising the green park.

Prof Malviya also wrote to district Collector to stop the construction of the building unless any decision comes on reconsideration letter. The objection letter was also enclosed with the letter.
