Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): The government railway police (GRP) recently arrested two suspects for allegedly stealing the luggage of a man traveling on long-distance train. The police have recovered a total of Rs 8.5 lakh from the alleged thieves.
GRP TI Radheshyam Mahajan said that suspect is identified as Rahul, a native of Bhilwara and Anil, who is a resident of Suwasara. In the month of October this year, the suspects had stolen bag along with a camera, camera lens, one laptop in it, of wildlife photographer Saumitra Shukla who was traveling from Sawai Madhopur in the B1 coach of Jodhpur Indore Express on October 28. Shulka lodged a report in GRP at Ujjain, when he came to know about the theft in the morning.
Police laid a trap and arrested two in the connection with the case. During the sustained interrogation, suspects admitted their involvement in the theft in the month of October for the sake of intoxication. And they havecommitted theft earlier too in the long distance trains. Police have recovered a total of Rs 8.5 lakh from the accused and are being taken on remand for the seizure of laptop and other accessories.
