Ujjain : Traditional beats of Malwa folk music reverberated village Mangorla, in a programme organised under the ongoing ‘Sanjha Lokotsav’, which is termed as an attempt to save the Malwa culture by its organizers. The performance of Maach by Bhagwan Singh Bais and his party, took the villagers and spectators to the olden times.
Secretary Kumar Kishan informed about the ongoing activities. He said on Wednesday the function started with Sanjha carving competition and was followed by blissful performance of Malwi music by Ramchandra Gangoliya and Ajay Gangoliya. Mamta Malviya performed a folk dance with seven pots on her head, while dancing on a glass laden platform. Folk dance performance of ‘Kaangwaliya’ by Umrao Malviya and party mesmerized the guests.
Maach performer Bhagwan Singh Bais, was conferred with Lok-kala Samman by Pratikalpa Society. MLA Mohan Yadav and scholar Dr Shiv Chourasiya were the guests on the occasion. Society president Gulab Singh Yadav, sarpanch Gabbar Thakur, Ravi Thakur and others were among the present. Dr Pallavi Kishan conducted the event.
