Jobat/Alirajpur : The Lok Ayukta police have raided the house of Hanif Mantri, posted as Panchayat secretary of village Vegalgaon under Alirajpur district, on Tuesday early morning and discovered an inventory sum of Rs 30 to 40 lakhs.

As per the DSP Daulat Singh, they had received a complaint that the secretary had amassed wealth disproportionate to his known source of income. Acting on the complaint, police conducted the raid and found that he owned LIC policies of Rs 6 lakhs, gold and silver jewelry worth Rs 5 lakhs, two houses in Indore Sahara city, one plot in Jobat and one car. The total property is not yet calculated but till now the estimated property is of Rs 50 lakhs.

However, the wife of secretary claimed that she belonged to a well to do reputed family and the whole property including houses and plots were given by her father.

“The total property is yet to be calculated, we can give details about the same only after the complete valuation.”
