Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP) patriarch Lal Krishna Advani may find his anticorruption Yatra next month dented by a letter fished out by the CBI from Bhopals slain RTI activist Shehla Masoods computer showing him

as the beneficiary of corruption by a Madhya Pradesh government corporation.

The bill of his private trip with family to Pachmarhi, a hill station in Madhya Pradesh, for lodging and boarding was picked up by the MP State Tourism Development Corporation.

Shehla, who dug out details of Rs 4,20,800 paid by the corporation, had complained to the Chief Vigilance Commissioner about the ” misutilisation” of the funds through a letter she wrote on August 1, a fortnight before she was shot dead in front of her house in Bhopal.

In her letter which is now in the custody of the CBI probing her murder, she has asserted that Advanis visit was personal and not connected with the affairs of the state and as such the rules were violated in footing his bills.

The Congress leaders say any misutilisation of public money, irrespective of howsoever small it may be, is corruption and hence Advani will be asked when his Yatra enters Madhya Pradesh on how he will absolve himself of benefiting from the officers breaking rules to pick up his bills.

They claim Advani is equally guilty as a bribe- taker as were two of the former BJP MPs in Tihar jail in the cash- for- vote scam in Parliament whom he is trying to defend as the ” whistle- blowers.” The third BJP leader who accepted the money is a MP and hence Delhi Police approached the Lok Sabha Speaker for his arrest and its application has been referred to the Attorney General for advice.
