Sendhwa : Lack of adequate amount of wages and inability to meet two times need, an eight year old girl is engaged in stunts risky for life that too in the home town of labor minister of the state.
Eight year old Sunita (name changed) who hails from Bilaspur could be seen showing dangerous stunts where she walks on a rope opposite third gate of fort situated at AB Road in full public view.
Ironically, the minor girl is performing these risky stunts in the home town of labour minister Antar Singh Arya just to fulfill her two times need along with her parents.
Ramesh, father of the minor girl claimed that they have no other option to perform the risky stunts in public place as the wages are very low in the state that could not cater needs of his family. Spectator’s sympathy for the minor daughter fetch him more money than daily wage to meet the two times need, Ramesh told Free Press.
However, the indifference of labor department officials has forced many poor families to take such risky stunts as their source of earning in the town as no concrete steps were taken in this direction in past.
On the other hand sub divisional magistrate Abhay Singh claimed-earning income by pushing the minor child into any risky stunt or occupation is illegal and action must be taken in this regard.
Besides, parents should admit the kids in school under Right to Education. There are a number of government schemes for nomadic tribe and BPL families where kids are given free hostel facilities and maintenance amount. Further, grains are also available at meager price for poor people.
