Ujjain : Simhastha Fair-2016 preparations are in full swing. PWD has taken up the job of leveling and temporary road construction in fair area. Marking has been done in Mangalnath area while leveling work is in progress at Mullapura and Ujadkheda areas.
A digital GIS map has been prepared temporary roads and other auxiliary roads will be built on the basis of this map. Various departments have been given training to exhibit their activities on the map. The map has been prepared in fifty layers. The map helps to enable the smooth monitoring of the fair area. Divisional Commissioner Dr Ravindra Pastor has directed to make the functioning of the fair high-tech. GIS map helps to know the exact location of the parking lot in a zone. It also enables to get information about traffic plan, holdup, ghat holdup, approach road, peshwai route, power supply, drainage, help counters, ATM, water supply and others.
Simhastha Fair will be organised on 3061 hectare land comprising the town and surrounding villages of the city. 352 hectare land has been notified for satellite towns. Simhastha-2004 was organised on 2154.42 hectare land. The entire fair area has been divided into six zones and 22 sectors. Each sector will have a sector magistrate and other necessities will be ensured.
