India yet to learn a lesson
This refers to the edit Living in denial again( FPJ, 17/ 6). The Indian government needs to learn a lesson from the inimical activities undertaken by China.
There is the threat of drying up of Brahmaputra River in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh ( AP) because of Chinas power projects on the rivers upstream side.
AP Minister Kalikho Pul has also expressed concern of Kargil like situation in AP. We are shocked to note India giving a clean chit to China on such grave matters.

Landslide on the Konkan Railway!
This refers to the front- page photograph of a collapsed retaining wall on the Konkan Railway near Nivar station (the flip side of monsoonFPJ, 18/ 6). A portion of the protection wall at the base of a hillslope has collapsed due the pressure exerted by the debris- slide behind it. Such and other forms of landslides have occurred in plenty in the initial years of the commissioning of the Konkan Railway leading to the accident of the Matsyagandha Express on June 16, 2004 that killed 14 passengers. The Konkan Railway was a rush job on a difficult terrain to meet a deadline and the stability of the hill- slopes on either side of the single track and at the portals of the several tunnels along the route was not taken care of properly. The present instance of a landslide breaking through the protection wall only goes to show that the slopes have not yet got stabilized. It is necessary that the railway authorities pay attention to this aspect now.

Thanks to Shri Sathya Sai Baba, the treasure gifted by the devotees are in India, and not stashed away else where, and every paise has been accounted for. Will all those in politics, who are supposed to be devotees of Shri Baba get inspired and disclose their wealth, in India and those stashed abroad? Kedarnath R Aiyar, Mumbai.

Kanis bail opposed
The CBI has rightly opposed the bail pleas of DMK chief Karunanidhis daughter Kanimozhi and Kalaignar MD Sharath Kumar. If freed, theduo who have political connections might end up t&ering with the evidence and influencing the witnesses. This would only h&er the CBIs investigation into 2G Spectrum scam case which is being monitored by the Supreme Court.

It may be late in the day but yet, I must express my views on the attitude of the media & the Govt. Why is it that they Club RSS & BJP & show them in a bad light on the wonderful job being carried out by Gandhians such as Anna Hazare as well as Baba Ramdev & why should RSS & BJP go on the defensive? Kolkata waterlogging
So, the problem waterlogging in Kolkata has not lessened a bit. True, the power failure by CESC has aggravated the woes as the commissioning of the pumps was delayed by a few hours. But that does not explain the situation totally. It is almost more than a year the new Mayor has taken charge.

Hazare, Ramdev not at par
Over- spoken and boasting functionaries in Union government and ruling Congress are wrong to equate movements of Anna Hazare and Baba Ramdev at par, when they think that they can crush selfless movement of Anna Hazare like they cru
