Ujjain : Leader of opposition in Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) Ravi Rai has demanded a special session of municipal council to discuss over the issue of smart city.
He, in a statement on Sunday, said that every Congress corporator is eager to participate in the development of the city. He said the holy city is in immediate need of industrial development and it needs to be included in the smart city project of the union government.
Rai also blamed the local government for not utilizing the proper funds provided to the city under the JNNURRM scheme saying, the city was given gift of JNNURM but lackadaisical approach and delay in scheme implementation, which resulted in backwardness of the city.
