FPJ POLITICAL BUREAU Mumbai The planning authority given to the controversial hill city Lavasa by CIDCO and MMRDA might be revoked because of its misuse.
This was revealed in a meeting of the environment ministry in New Delhi.
The mi
nistry has taken objection to the fact that Lavasa was constructed after cutting several hills in the region.
The development could have taken place even without disturbing the hills, was the consensus that emerged from the meeting.
Inspite of having more FSI, the planning authority did not complete the work on time is what the ministry has pointed out.
The construction work at Lavasa is shut at the moment.
Officials attended the meeting from the environment, revenue and urban development departments.
Some documents that pointed out the irregularities with Lavasa were presented in the meeting.
The meeting decided that the planning authority should not have been given to Lavasa in the first place.
