Labourer injured in cracker factory blast

Ujjain : One person was severely injured when a blast took place at an unauthorised cracker factory running in the populated village of Ratariya under Bhairavgarh police circle located near Ambodiya road here on Tuesday. Bhairavgarh police are searching for the factory owner Mukhtar Hussain who managed to escape the scene.

The blast was so loud that it was heard in the range of about 500 meters from its spot and reduced the building to rubbles. The factory exploded in flames as the fire broke when the injured worker went to open one of the boxes of the firecracker. The injured has been identified as Anil, son of Shaitan Singh, who was working in the factory for the past three months. Anil received suffered burns and was rushed to Civil Hospital by the co-workers, from where has been referred to Maharaja Yashwant Rao Hospital Indore for further treatment.

Friction may have been a possible cause for the fire, as other workers who escaped the scene told that Anil had gone to open a box of crackers. To open the box, he hammered it with a blunt hammer which created a spark and caused the explosion.

Factory belongs to one Shabbir, son of Mukhtar Hussaina, a resident of Chattri Chowk, who managed to flee the scene police are now searching for the factory owner. A case under section 286 and 338 of IPC has been registered against the absconding owner. A big tragedy was averted as the fire tenders reached at the spot in time and managed to douse the fire.
