Irked over substandard construction; Div Com warns to file FIR against officials

Ujjain : Divisional Commissioner Ravindra Pastor irked over the substandard construction of the toilets built at Kaal Bhairav and Mangalnath zones for upcoming Simhastha Fair and threatened the concerned engineers to FIR against them under specified regulations corruption conduct. Dr Pastor also visited the Ramghat and asked concerned agencies to lay the 4 inches red stone.

Dr Pastor made a visit to Mangalnath, Kaal Bhairav, Dutt Akhada and Mahakal zones on Tuesday. He made inspection of the development works done at the zones. He expressed agitation over the use of substandard material in the construction of toilets built by Sulabh International. He reprimanded the chief engineer and the staff of the construction agency and warned them to file FIR against them over such act. He asked Ujjain Municipal Corporation engineers to seize the bill vouchers and to investigate into the matter. He also visited Ramghat and made inspection of the flooring of red stone at Ramghat. He directed additional commissioner of UMC to get the strength of the new and old stone tested and red stone of 4 inch thickness should be laid for the flooring.

Rebuking the officials of Sulabh International on the site, Dr Pastor asked why they had not used the best material when they had been paid the best amount. He also sought the entire work plan of the organization with the timeline. The quality of the material shown in the DPR should be used in the construction. The same variety and grade of the cement should be used in the construction. He called UMC superintending engineer and directed to manage strict monitoring over the work. Time keepers should be appointed at each zone to make constant inspection of the spot. He asked to send the samples of the construction materials used by Sulabh International for testing. He also directed to send back the substandard material stored at the site.

Dr Pastor was satisfied over the construction of toilets built at Mahakal and Dutt Akhada Zone by Syntax Organisation and asked them for the rapid construction. During the inspection of Mahakal Zone, he asked zonal magistrate to start the office by holding a tent at Lalpul sector. All the departments which have to work in the sectors should be called and ask them to furnish a timeline of their works. During the review at Mahakal Zone, Dr Pastor asked in-charge officer of the UMC to start installing the lights on the electric poles from January 3.

He also visited the cleaning work of Kshipra at Lalpul and directed concerned officials to carry out the drive constantly by preparing a calendar. He asked farmers to lift the silt taken out from the Kshipra river.
