Indore police SI sent to jail on rape charges

Ujjain : A 22-year-old girl registered complaint of rape against the sub inspector of Indore police in Nanakheda police station on Friday. Accused sub-inspector, Vivek Mahaniya resident of Abhishek Nagar was in relationship with the victim while he was doing engineering from one of the engineering colleges of the city. Accused entered in illicit relationship with the victim several times, when victim girl kept the marriage proposal, accused refused the offer. Girl had registered the complaint in Mahila Thana of Indore which was later transferred to Nanakheda police. According to Nanakheda police, accused has been sent to Bhairavgarh jail in evening by the local court.
