Ujjain: After the installation of biometric thumb impression machine at district hospital on January 1, most of the staff members are still reluctant to record their presence through the machine. Hospital administration will take action against those who would not record their presence on the machine.

District hospital staff staged demonstration against installation of biometric thumb impression machine on Thursday. Though Collector has ordered to ensure presence of hospital staff through the machine, most of the employees are still reluctant to press their thumb on the machine to record their presence.

About 622 employees work in the hospital, but employees working in Janani Suraksha, Children’s ward and TB ward are not recording their presence through the machine.

Hospital administration has generated a code to all the employees On being contacted Civil Surgeon Dr CD Sharma told Free Press that thumb impression machine was installed to ensure the presence of the staff members.

All the staff has to use the machine for recording their presence. In case of absence of the employees, salary will be reduced.
