Health director inspects government hospitals

Ujjain: Director, health services, Dr BNS Chauhan on Tuesday inspected the Civil Hospital and Government Madhav Nagar Hospital. Dr Chauhan reached at Madhav Nagar Hospital at around 9 am and started inspecting various wards, including maternity and medicine wards. He also reviewed the services being provided in the hospital, requirements of various departments, sanitation and waste water management.

He checked the Nutrition Rehabilitation Center (NRC) of Madhav Nagar Hospital where malnourished children are rehabilitated. Dr Chauhan directed to suspend an irregular female employee of NRC. Agitated over the order, she started to argue with the visiting official.

After taking stock of the conditions at Madhav Nagar Hospital, he visited Agar Road situated Civil Hospital. Chauhan inspected various wards like in-patient, out-patient, pediatric, laboratories and pharmacy to ascertain whether proper facilities are being provided to the patients. Chauhan pulled up the laboratory incharge for the unhygienic condition at the laboratory, while Dr Ajay Nigam was warned for not being present on his duty at the OPD. He also checked whether all surgical equipments were functioning properly.

CMHO Dr Laxmi Baghel and CS Dr CD Sharma accompanied Dr Chauhan during the inspection. At Civil Hospital, he instructed the staff to cater to the medical needs of all patients since many out-patients were visiting the hospital on a regular basis.
