Ujjain : Indore Bench of High Court has directed to issue show cause notices to Union minister Thawarchand Gehlot, MP Dr Chintamani Malviya, municipal speaker Sonu Gehlot and other BJP leaders accepting the election petition-33 filed by former MP Premchand Guddu on July 31.

Guddu presented evidences before Indore Bench of High Court claiming that Thawarchand Gehlot, Dr Malviya, Sonu Gehlot and other BJP leaders tarnished his image while alleging in public meetings and through media during Lok Sabha polls. The petition was filed at Jabalpur High Court by Guddu’s advocate Prateek Maheshwari in the end of June 2014. The petition was transferred to Indore Bench of High Court where the petition was heard by Justice Prakash Shrivastava. Guddu also mentioned in the petition that each vote cast through electronic voting machine went to BJP and the machine was seized by election officer at Nagda-Khachrod constituency. Seizure panchnama of EVM was also presented before the court.

Guddu also provided evidences showing the Municipal Speaker making false allegation against him during public meetings and media interviews during Lok Sabha polls. A CD recorded with the statements of Gehlot was presented before the court. Guddu also presented a CD containing the speech given by Thawarchand Gehlot. Gehlot had made false allegation against Guddu. Guddu also gave evidences claiming that Dr Malviya’s resignation was not accepted by Vikram University and he has been living at varsity quarter turning it as BJP office. Guddu in his petition has demanded HC to declare the election at Ujjain-Alote constituency as illegal and declaring him as the winner of the constituency.
