Ujjain: The Pradesh Congress Committee ( PCC) spokesperson Noori Khan on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on party’s Ujjain MP Premchand Guddu saying that he was eating the party like a termite.
“ No senior Congress leader could do anything and even Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were kept in dark over selection of candidates for the Assembly Elections- 2013,” she charged adding that the high command should take stern action against all those who were instrumental in favouring the candidature of Guddu’s son Ajit Bourasi from Alot constituency in place of party’s official candidate.
Addressing a press conference at the Press Club, Noori Khan, who was a ticket- seeker from Muslim- dominated Ujjain North constituency, said that the party leadership has ignored women, youth and Minority community candidates in ticket allocation.
“ I am very disappointed over the selection of candidates for the eight seats of Ujjain district,” she said. “ Party high command had made a policy not to field the kith and kin of the MPs, but Ujjain MP Premchand Guddu first of all managed ticket for his employee Pappu Bourasi, then Kamal Parmar, who is an unknown person, and then grabbed the party nomination for his son Ajit Bourasi from Alot at the eleventh hour,” she said demanding strict action against all those who helped Guddu in executing such a game plan.
Noori Khan further alleged that Guddu had struck a deal with the BJP in distribution of Congress tickets for eight seats of Ujjain Lok Sabha area. In Muslim- Brahmin dominated Ujjain North constituency, Guddu managed ticket for Vivek adav alias Vicky. Likewise, in Ujjain South, he preferred Jai Singh Darbar who betrayed Congress by contesting the 2008 election as an independent candidate. For Tarana, he brought an Indorean ( outsider) Rajendra Malviya as the party candidate. In Barnagar, he betrayed prominent ticket aspirant Murli Morwal, Noori Khan
who used to bring 100 to 150 vehicles to support Guddu on different occasion. In Mahidpur constituency, Guddu’s man Dinesh Jain Boss did not withdraw his nomination paper and has been contesting election as an independent candidate, she added.
The PCC spokesperson clarified that she is quite aware of the fact that it may be her last press conference and the party may also show her the doors. “ But, I want to bring all facts in the notice of party high command and is revealing these things only to reflect the voice of party workers and those people who have supported the party in elections during many decades,” she said. Noori Khan even went on saying that her life was in danger as after making such utterances against Guddu camp may eliminate her. “ Through these maneuverings, Guddu has committed a crime… he is not above the Congress… I would not allow him to continuously act as a dictator and would continue to work as a humble party worker,” she concluded.
Guddu recommends security for Noori
Meanwhile, Congress media publicity and publication committee chairman Premchand Guddu has requested Ujjain IG and SP to provide adequate security to PCC spokesperson Noori Khan. “ I have learnt that Noori Khan has sought security arrangement for her and recommend providing her the same keeping in mind the Assembly Elections- 2013,” Guddu said in a letter faxed to these authorities.
BJP in upbeat, seeks ECI probe
State Roop Pamnani demanded the Election Commission of India ( ECI) to order a probe into the allegations leveled by the PCC spokesperson Noori Khan against her own party MP Premchand Guddu and other leaders. “ These allegations are quite serious and that’s why we are expressing our concerns,” he pointed out saying that the allegations against Guddu to grab the Congress ticket for his son through conspiracy, striking a deal in ticket distribution and passing security threats to Noori Khan cannot be considered as healthy for the democracy.
Speaking to media persons at the Press Club, Pamnani defended giving tickets to the kith and kin of the BJP leaders on the grounds that these tickets have been allotted on merit, contribution and activism of them.
